Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Roof Rack Kit Installation - 2023 Kia Sorento

Hi, Matt with etrailer. And today, we're talking about the Thule roof rack on top of our 2023 Kia Sorento. Now, a roof rack's a really good option for the Sorento for a few reasons. One of those big reasons is if you have a family and you wanna take a trip, since we do have three rows of seating, you're probably not gonna have a lot of storage in the back of your vehicle. So your roof's gonna be a great option for that. And if you don't own a hitch or your hitch was already being occupied by something else, that's gonna be another reason to store things on top of your roof. more

Hi, everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer and today we have the Yakima SkyLine FX Roof Rack. We're gonna take a look at how it fits as well as how it installs on our 2023 Kia Sorento. If you're looking to carry around some fun accessories like kayaks or bike racks, or maybe expand your cargo space with a roof box or roof basket, what you are gonna need is a roof rack system and this is gonna be the SkyLine FX designed to work with the factory flush rails of your Kia Sorento. This is also gonna be a flush roof rack system making for more low profile and sleek system where you don't have bars sticking out but you rather have a rounded roof rack. That way it matches the contours of your Sorento. Now I personally prefer the SkyLine system, which has the bars that stick out past the towers, but that's more personal preference because it makes it easier for me to reach the roof rack. more

Today, on our 2014 Kia Sorento, we will be test fitting the Thule Rapid Crossroads Roof Rack System using part numbers tharb53 and th450r. With our roof rack assembled according to the instructions, we will begin our test fit by placing the front load bar onto the front part of our roof. To make sure our bars stay straight across from each other, we'll find a fixed point on the side rail and use that for our foot location. We can bring the rubber coated strap around the underside of our rail and fit it back into the foot pack. We'll use the included tool to tighten the Allen bolt and secure our straps around our side rails. We'll move from the passenger's side to the driver's side to evenly secure it. We'll grab our rear bar, place it under the rear part of our roof. Thule recommends that we have a minimum load bar spread of 24 inches. more

With this done, we can take the rubber-coated steel straps on number three and insert it into the bottom portion of the blade. We'll then wrap the strap around the raised side rail bringing it back up into the holes of the strap, placing it into the holes at the top portion of the blade. more
